Reagan Messer: Artistic Director, Dance. Reagan Messer is a native of Atlanta and former Boston Ballet Soloist. He continues to dance as a guest artist throughout the United States. Reagan has performed Solar and Golden Idol in La Bayadere, Basilio and Espada in Don Quixote, Siegfried and Jester in Swan Lake, Tybalt in Romeo and Juliet, Blue Bird in The Sleeping Beauty, Slave, Pas d’esclave, and Birbanto in Le Corsaire, Peasant Pas de Deux in Giselle, Sir Kenneth Macmilland’s Winter Dreams, Quasimodo in Michael Pinkd’s Hunchback of Notre Dame, Goro in Stanton Welch’s Madame Butterfly, Twyla Tharp’s In the Upper Room, Tico in Paul Taylord’s Company B, Champion Roper in Rodeo, Red Boy in Lila Yorkd’s Celts, and the lead in Balanchined’s Slaughter on Tenth Avenue. In 1993, Reagan toured Brazil with Fernando Bujones and Friends where he danced Don Quixote Pas de Deux and Gopak. In 1994, he was a finalist at the International Ballet Competition in Jackson, MS. Reagan was Ballet Master for Boston Ballet II from 2000 to 2002 and directed and produced the International Ballet Gala in Atlanta, Georgia featuring artists from Boston Ballet and the Royal Ballet of London in 1995 and 1996. He lives with his wife and daughter in Rindge. Danielle Fitzpatrick: Program Director, Young Arts. Danielle Fitzpatrick has been teaching dance and theater in the tri-state area for more than a decade. She moved to Keene after graduating from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst so that she could pursue a Master’s degree in Dance/movement therapy at Antioch NE. She has taught creative dance, children’s theater and ballet in studio settings, classrooms, preschools, and workshops. In addition to teaching dance, she works as a dance therapist specializing in geriatrics. When she is not dancing, Danielle enjoys raising her two daughters. Gretchen Carmel: B.F.A. in Dance/Performing Arts. Dancer, performer, healer and teacher, is a certified Kripalu Yoga teacher, Phoenix Rising Yoga therapist and Reiki practitioner, and has danced professionally throughout the United States. Gretchen has been teaching Yoga classes and workshops since 1993.
Richard Clough: BA in Theater/History, member NDCA, AFAA certified Personal Trainer/Fitness Counselor, and Strong Living leader, has been teaching Ballroom, Swing, and Latin since 1983. He coaches amateur competitive dancers, teaches tap to children and adults and also teaches line dance to Keene Middle School and choreographs for high school musicals. Tracy Croteau has been dancing and performing with Moco Arts for over 5 years. She enjoys choreographing and preparing dancers for performances. Previously, she has taught martial arts, in which she holds a black belt. In addition, she devotes time to raising her 2 children. Sarah Franklin studied with famed teachers Ruth Currier, Daniel Lewis, Phyllis Lamhut, and Truda Kaschman and has performed in NYC for 10 years in her own and other’s works in various venues from 1985-1995 and taught at the Limon Institute, Danspace, and the Ruth Currier Studio. She went on to teach and be the interim Dean of Dance at the Hartford Conservatory. She created and initiated the dance program at Fairfield University where she was also resident choreographer from 1994-2000. Sarah was featured dancer at New Haven’s Education Center for the Arts, for years, in works of Mary Barnett, Sandra Kopell, and Judy Dworin. Most recently in 2007, Sarah performed at Dance Theatre Workshop’s 40up in a piece choreographed by local choreographer Sally Bomer. She takes care of her son Sam who is 7. Kristen Leach: BS in Education. In addition to teaching dance at Moco Arts, Kristen is currently the Artistic Director for the New Hampshire Dance Institute and holds a winter residency at Vermont Academy. Marty Hennum: Artistic Director of Theatre and CAKE. MFA, theatre instructor, advisor and has directed plays and musicals in the Boston area for over 20 years. In 1998, she was chosen "Outstanding Arts Educator" of Massachusetts. Marty directed the assessment of CAKE, a NEA Summer School in the Arts site, by convening the panel of artist educators, members of the NH State Council on the Arts and the NH Dept of Education which developed the evaluation tools and rubrics. She trained and assisted the independent evaluators and oversaw the implementation and assessment of the process and longitudinal studies of the outcomes. Marty lives in Keene with her husband and two children. JoAnne Mead: BS in Elementary Education and Music Education (Instrumental and Vocal). She has extensive post graduate work in vocal studies. She received her training with teachers from Boston University, Keene State College and Opera Singer Anna Gabrieli. She is known as a Vocal Instructor, Music Director and Soprano Soloist. She has performed as a soloist with numerous choral/orchestral organizations singing oratorio, opera, classical recitals and concerts, to musical theatre. She has performed with Lowell Opera, Granite State Opera, Opera North and Raylynmor Opera Company. She vocal coaches, music directs and teaches workshops in the area school districts. She serves as a Judge/Adjudicator for the New Hampshire Music Ed. Association(NHMEA), for the annual All-State Choral Festival, and has been a Judge/Adjucator for the National Assoc. of Teachers of Singing(NATS).
Eric Snare holds a BA in Improvisational Arts from Keene State College. He has been involved with theatre since early childhood, and with improvisational theatre since joining ActingOut in 2000. Eric has taught both beginning and advanced improv skills for six seasons of MoCo Arts' Creative Arts at Keene Summer Camp, and is excited to be entering his second year of teaching improv skills for MoCo Arts year-round. He continues to work with Acting Out, currently as a full-time Americorps Volunteer. Eric has seen theatre transform both the students that he teaches and the communities he has lived in, time and again. It is this capacity for spurring positive change and growth that ultimately brings him to both the classroom and the stage, and that fuels his passion for teaching. Deanna Zilske: BA in theatre and a MEd in Elementary Education. After undergrad she worked for Stage One, Louisville’s Children’s Theatre as the Assistant Education Director. After her time at Stage One, Deanna moved to New York City where she taught elementary school in Brooklyn, New York. Deanna currently teaches at Fuller School, musically directs for Keene High School, and musically directs and teaches for MoCo Arts. Jazmine Carroll, Costume Director/Puppetry Teacher
Craig Stockwell: Artistic Director, School of Art has been an artist since finishing his studies at Dartmouth College and Rhode Island School of Design in 1975. In his 20’s Craig had success in NY with his sculptural installations. His work was shown at P.S. 1, now a part of the Museum of Modern Art and reviewed in the NY Times. Recently, he has shown his drawings and paintings extensively in New England and nationally, his work is in the permanent collection of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, and he was included in the 2003 exhibit at the Museum, “Visions and Revisions: Works on Paper 1960 to the Present.” He was a 2002 recipient of a New Hampshire Independent Artists Grant. He is also a writer on art and writes frequently for the magazine Art New England. Craig lives in Keene with his wife, Sarah Mustin, and three daughters. Peter Granucci Program Director, School of Art, has been painting professionally since 1974 when he had his first one man show in New York City. He attended The Paier School of Art and then went on to The School of Visual Arts in NYC where he received his BFA. Painting full-time since the early eighties, Mr. Granucci has exhibited in national shows and has received numerous awards such as the Tom Picard Award and the American Artist Professional League Award. He was also featured in the Public Television show "New Hampshire Crossroads" and has been reviewed on New Hampshire Public Radio. Known for his portraiture, he has been flown to various parts of the world including Hawaii and Indonesia. His clients include Sally Jesse Raphael and Bob Wolfe. Mr. Granucci's work can be seen in collections such as AT&T and Exxon among many others. Alicia Drakiotes has a BA in Visual Communications from Keene State College. She has been a full time artist since 2003 and teaches Monotype Printmaking and Pastels at Moco Arts. Alicia has won numerous local awards for both her monotype and pastel works including an Emerging Artist Award for a pastel work titled "Acadian Afternoon", and has been juried into National and International exhibitions. Alicia currently paints in oil and pastel medium and also creates monotype prints. She is a member of several art associations including: So. Vermont Arts Center, Sharon Arts Center, Oil Painters of America, NH Plein Air Painters, NH Pastel Society, etc. She was the featured artists in the Spring 2009 Issue of Monadnock Living Magazine and her pastel "Blue Carpet was featured on the cover of This Week/Arts and Entertainment in Central Mass , July 2008. Most recent exhibitions include "Vacation Places" a collection of plein air paintings in oil & pastel and "Two Moons Over Monadnock" a series of works that illustrate an original poem she wrote about Mt. Monadnock. She can be found in her home studio - gallery Early Sunrise in Marlborough, NH when not teaching.
Sienna Giffen a fourth generation artist of Nelson, NH has been painting actively since 1987. Her early studies in painting started under the guidance of her late mother Lenoria Merrifield who was an accomplished oil painter. She is a member of the Pastel Society of New Hampshire and the Keene Art Association. Some of her awards include Cover for the Discovery Magazine KSC Fall issue 2007 and 1st place Member’s Choice Award 2004 for the Keene Art Association. Her exhibitions include “Northern Exposures” 2008 in NYC and “Views Near Home” in Fitzwilliam, NH Marylise Reilly-Fajal has a MFA from the Sorbonne University in Paris, France. She also has a MA in English/French. She teaches Drawing, Clay, Wood, and Watercolors at Moco Arts. She attended The Art Academy in Paris, The Montparnasse Art Academy, and The Louvre Museum. International Career from 1985 to today includes Painted in Oils and Watercolors for 34 years, Art exhibitions in Paris, France, Syrian Cultural Center, Pavillon Baltard Damascus, Syria, National art event sponsored by the French Cultural Center and Syrian Culture Ministry, One woman shows in Switzerland, Germany, England, Portugal, Paris, France and south of France. Marylise Reilly-Fajal has been teaching art in 3 schools: Nelson, John Perkins Marlow, and James Faulkner in Stoddard, NH for 9 years She is a NH Certified art teacher. Nicole Caulfield graduated from Northern Illinois University with a BS in Art Education in 1997, but decided to put off teaching until after establishing her art career. She has won numerous awards since then for her realistic colored pencil drawings including 3rd place in the National Portrait Society Members Showcase Exhibition 2008, Best of Show in the 2008 Thorne Sagendorph Biennial Show, and the President's Award in the UKCPS 7th Annual Open International Exhibition. Now, teaching part-time, Nicole enjoys exploring various media with her young students from clay, drawing, and more recently stop-motion animation. You can see her work at the Monadnock Art Gallery on Main Street in Keene. Ashley McAllister Char Russell Georgia Tasoulas Karena Ness graduated from Concordia College in Minnesota with a BA in Art Education. She began her teaching career in Minnesota where she taught high school art for four years before deciding to further her studies in painting. She moved to Savannah, Georgia where she completed her MFA in Painting at the Savannah College of Art & Design. Karena studied abroad at the Lacoste School of Arts in 2004. Her work is exhibited as part of the permanent collection at the SCAD -Atlanta campus. Since moving to NH in 2006, she has been teaching art within the local school districts as well as continuing her own studio work. Karena is a NH Certified Art teacher. Jeanne Thieme graduated from Southern Connecticut State Collegiate with a BS in Art Education. She began her art career in illustration and design in a CT art studio. She moved to New Hampshire where she freelanced with local art studios, but eventually began teaching art at Keene High School. Jeanne currently paints full time and teaches classes for MoCo Arts and Pipe Dream Studio. Her works are currently represented in the Noroton Gallery, and the Chrysalis Gallery.
Pamela Clough: Director of Wellness. Pam has been with MoCo Arts since 1994 when she joined the company to work in the office and teach fitness classes. Pam is AFAA Certified as a Group Exercise Leader, Personal Fitness Trainer, and Weight Training Specialist with over 25 years of experience in the Fitness industry. In addition to her AFAA certifications, Pam is the only person in the region who is a certified STOTT PILATES® instructor. She holds a Comprehensive Advanced Level Certification from STOTT PILATES®, the highest level, which covers all apparatus and matwork and includes Injuries and Special Population. She currently teaches both group classes and private sessions in STOTT PILATES®, ZUMBA®, group weight lifting and Personal Fitness Training sessions, while also being the Director of the Wellness Department. Michelle Davis: is a Kripalu Certified Yoga Teachers and offers a fun, energetic, eclectic style of teaching. She has practiced yoga for over 10 years and teaching for over seven years. Michelle is honored to have been voted “Best of Monadnock” by the Monadnock Shopper New three years in a row, 2006, 2007, 2008. Michelle offers a variety of classes and workshops. Private lessons are always welcome- as Michelle offers excellent individualized attention. Adriana Elliot: BA in Theatre and Spanish Literature. Adriana Elliot has been teaching Nia in Keene for the past four years. Her classes have steadily grown in size and popularity and she loves teaching. She has studied a variety of dance forms in the US and Mexico City. Robyn Hannett: teaches children’s, yoga a fun combination of yoga poses adapted to children’s growing bodies and creative movement. She lives in Fitzwilliam with her husband, and two children Roxy (8) and Scotty(6). They enjoy hiking, Kayaking, biking, camping, and rock climbing together. She divides her time between home schooling her children, gardening, reading, doing yoga, running. Josephine Russell: MA, DMT, and certified Kripalu yoga teacher, began studying yoga in India in the late ‘60s and studied with Sarvani, Shiva Rae, Rodney Yee and Gurmukh. True to the origins of yoga, she allows our experience of the natural world to nourish yoga’s motions and meditations. Nancy Sporborg: teaches Fitness for Life and Strength for Life classes in the early morning at the Wellness Center and offering a 4,000-Footer Challenge program to help people get to the summit of one of the White Mountains. Nancy started Center Stage and the Pumpkin Festival in 1991 and ran the community events for years. She has volunteered for many nonprofit organizations in the community, including the Monadnock United Way. Wendy Bienvenu teaches all levels, teens to adult. She began her Yoga Studies at Rochester Institute of Technology in New York in 1988. She certified via Karuna Center of Northampton, MA in 2003, continuing advanced studies there. She's been a competitive gymnast 8 yrs, martial artist 15 yrs, enjoys mountain biking, swimming, running & yoga. She works in Communications, is an Artist, Writer & Editor. Wendy's keen eye and deep understanding will compassionately unlock your flexibility in body, mind & spirit. She engages her students in a discussion about applying a Yogic perspective to life. Jennifer Callihan has been a practitioner of yoga for over 10 years. In her classes, she shares her enthusiasm for yoga through simple, detailed instruction and brings a sense of ease, joy and lightness to the practice. She completed her teacher training with Alexandra Teague at Mudita Yoga in Peterborough, where she also teaches weekly classes. Jo Schneiderman: is a certified ERYT (Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher), with over 35 years teaching experience. Her gentle, individualized, yet challenging style is drawn primarily from the Iyengar yoga method of teaching. Jo completed her teacher training with Patricia Walden. Jo feels honored to teach yoga at MOCO, which she see’s a an incredible community resource that makes all kinds of movement and art accessible to a wide variety of students
Carol Batchelder, Executive Director: BS, MA in Art Administration, Executive Director The Moving Company Dance Center, dba MoCo Arts in Keene, NH, has 30 years experience in the service industry with AT&T and New England Telephone. She has held the Executive Director Position at MoCo Arts since 1997. Her affiliations include Arts Alive, board member, Keene Downtown Group, board member, Keene Elm City Rotary, member, She is a member of the Keene Chamber of Commerce. She has served on several Dept of Education Arts Panels focused on arts in education and career initiatives. Since joining MoCo she has initiated or supported the following partnership agreements: Arts Alive, Creative Arts at Keene, In-Shape, Giving Monadnock Coalition, Monadnock Area Network for Youth (MANY); MANY Options After School Program Cynthia Cote, Business Manager: Cynthia has a BS in Accounting from Bentley College and MBA from Plymouth State University. She has worked in non-profit accounting for over 15 years in New Hampshire and Vermont. When not dealing with numbers, she enjoys a variety of creative outlets including water color painting at MoCo’s Art School. She lives in Westmoreland with her husband and twin girls. Beth Healy, Director of Development Dianne McGilvary, Buisness/Development Office Assistant Mia Houman: Communications Manager holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Syracuse University & graduated Cum Laude in 2001. Since 2001, Mia has worked as an Assistant Editor at Examgen, an educational software company, and as a Publications Specialist at SRC, a non-profit research organization. In 2006, she began working as a freelance illustrator and graphic designer, creating custom portraits of animals and a line of giftware. Her animal illustrations have been in juried exhibitions at the Everson Museum of Art, the AKC Art Show at the Dog Show, and the New York State Wildlife Art Exhibition. In her spare time, Mia enjoys spending as much time as possible with her husband, dogs, and cat. Alex Trombly, Technical Director, is a junior at Keene State College, studying technical theatre. His experience begins in 6th grade, assisting with the technical aspect of performances at his elementary school. He has continued through high school at Monadnock Regional High School, designing the lights, sound, and the set for multiple shows, including, Beauty and the Beast, Seussical the Musical, and Les Miserables. He is the assistant technical director at Keene State College and has also done lighting, sound, and set design as Moco’s technical director for over 15 Moco Arts shows, including The Nutcracker, West Side Story, and Peter Pan.
